Side Inbound Backdoor Play
If the opponents are playing person to person defense we attempt to capitalize on their belief that they have successfully prevented us from inbounding the ball to our point guard 1 whom we initially send toward the mid court area. We capitalize by running a back door on the defender who overplays our 1 guard. We also have player 5 set two picks to provide us with inbound opportunities to our two players 2 & 4 each of whom could relay a pass to our back door cutter 1.
The play leaves us with players 5 and 3 and possibly 4 and 2 moving for rebounding position if it is being run as a last second play. If it is not a last second play then player 2 moves to the mid court area to serve as a safety.
