Legal Counsel
Legal Counsel for carrying on business in Canada
(Because you wouldn't want a lawyer not licensed to practice in Canada providing you with legal counsel regarding Canadian law any more than you would want a lawyer not licensed to practice in America providing you with legal counsel regarding American law.)
There are a number of attorneys listed as associate members of the Canadian Direct Sellers Association at www.dsa.ca. Make certain the attorney you retain is familiar with the Competition Act's multi-level marketing provisions and has previously had clients receive binding positive opinion letters from the Competition Bureau for their multi-level marketing plans. Also make certain the attorney you retain is very knowledgeable of paragraph 206(1)(e) of Canada's Criminal Code and the judicial decisions applying that paragraph. Here is some information from some of those decisions. If they don't know the details of the decisions applying Criminal Code paragraph 206(1)(e), seek other legal counsel.
